2018. A New Year. A new start and maybe you have a bit more frosting on your finger than you did before. They don't call it the festive season for nothing. You are officially on your way to becoming a Mrs!
First thing is first, a million questions from relatives, when is the date? What is your dress going to look like? etc. etc. meanwhile you got engaged 24hrs ago. Just breathe we have you covered when it comes to the dress and shoes. Here are my top tips for planning your wedding look.
Yes its that word, some of us don't have them but most of us need them, there is nothing more heartbreaking than falling in love with something you can't have, set a budget for yourself early on to avoid stress and disappointment.
Ah yes, Pinterest has changed the way we see weddings, as they say I have my Pinterest wedding and my real wedding. Pinterest is great tool for communicating ideas but like all things it has its place and that is right in the beginning, once you have decided on your dress do yourself a favour and stop looking.
When visiting a designer to chat about your bespoke gown it needs to be about more than the dress, there has to be a connection, a love for their work and a feeling that they understand who you are and what you need. If those boxes are ticked you know its a match made in heaven.
4. The Family
This can be one of your biggest blessings or worst headaches. Remember its your day and you need to stay true to you. Your mom , auntie, cousin twice removed or sister might have opinions about the way you should look but the only one that matters is yours.
5. The Shoes
Your best bet us to buy your shoes a few months before your dress is ready. Why do we say this? Hems, hems, hems! Too short or too long is just a no no it has to be just right so make sure your shoes are comfortable and beautiful because changing lengths at the last minute is going to stress you and your designer out.
6. You are perfect
Yes you heard me, don't bat those eyes and look down at the ground. You are so why now are we starting with master cleanses, 7 days a week gym, slimming supplements and the like? I know we all want to tone up and look our best but losing too much weight and starving yourself is really not the way to go plus doing countless alterations on dresses is never a good thing.
7. Making pretty
When you are trying on dresses it is advisable that you prepare your hair and make up so that you can see your whole bridal look coming together, that way there are no surprises on the big day or second guessing yourself.
8. Enjoy the moment
Being a bride is beautiful experience, just enjoy it, be yourself and make the most out of the day.
Signing out with love
